Dear Editor,
The residents of West Dam Vryheid’s North, East Coast Demerara, once a squatting area, have lived here since 1964 with our families.
This dam stretches from the public road to the sea wall. All of the residents pay their taxes when the year is up, but to this day it remains a mud dam. It is worse than in 1964; there is no road, no drainage and irrigation, no truck selling provisions and greens, and even the vendor selling fish and shrimps is not coming into the dam, because they are afraid they will get stuck.
Yours faithfully,
Rambeer Ramlall,
