The Demerara Cricket Club Queenstown ground will be the host of three Under-19 40-overs-side cricket matches from Wednesday to Friday when the home team play host to a Bartica under-19 team as part of the Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sport HIV/AIDS Awareness Project.
National under-19 players Trevon Griffith and Royston Alkins, along with Demerara Under-19 selectees in captain and wicket-keeper Denver Greaves and opener Troy Nurse are expected to represent the Queenstown based DCC team in the tournament which commences from 11am each day.
The winning team will receive a trophy and medals whilst there will be a man-of-the-match award for each game.
A man-of-the-series will be selected at the end of the three match tournament.
Minister of Culture, Youth and Sport, Dr. Frank Anthony, is expected to give the feature address at the launch of the tournament whilst Director of Sports Neil Kumar and Carl Brandon are expected to attend the launching.
