Cricket action in Georgetown is set to resume on Saturday with the commencement of the Georgetown Cricket Association (GCA)/Beharry Champion Products Cup sponsored 40 overs second division limited overs competition, along with the Neal and Massy (NM) first division limited overs competition.
In the nationwide NM tournament which is organized by the Guyana Cricket Board (GCB), Malteenoes Sports Club (MSC) will play host to Georgetown Cricket Club (GCC) at their Thomas Lands ground, while Demerara Cricket Club (DCC) will take on Everest Cricket Club at DCC.
On Sunday 17th August, MSC will take on Transport Sports Club (TSC) at MSC and DCC will clash with GCC at DCC.
The action Saturday will see Guyana Defence Force (GDF) taking on DCC at Everest and Diplomats opposing Ace Warriors at Ghandi Youth Organization ground, Woolford Avenue in zone A of the Beharry Champion Products Cup.
In zone B, Everest will clash with GCC at GCC and the Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sports will face TSC at PSC.
More zone A action will continue on Sunday with Ace Warriors and GDF at Police Sports Club (PSC) ground, Eve Leary, Third Class going up against Guyana National Industrial Corporation (GNIC) at GNIC while DCC and MSC will clash at GCC, Bourda.
In zone B, Everest will host TSC at Camp Road and Muslim Youth Organization who will be making a welcome return to cricket action in Georgetown will oppose GYO at GYO.
Teams are reminded that the umpire’s fee will be taken care of by the GCA and they are expected to host themselves and one (1) umpire in the matches which will commence at 11:00hrs each day.
