Look for a constructive way to cooperate

Dear Editor,
Until opposition parties and other entities reach a common consensus that a strong and constructive way must be found to cooperate with government and influence policy, Guyana’s progress will be delayed or slowed. Waiting for a non-PPP party that will automatically improve governance is somewhat farfetched.  Where is a reasonable alternative to the PPP today?  The performance of the M&CC and other local government bodies do not inspire confidence that they can govern any better.

Inclusive government requires a common consensus or it becomes a divided one, providing ministerial jobs for a few party leaders and a false sense of satisfaction for their misguided followers. This is about improving the lives of all Guyanese now, not their political leaders. NGOs must keep the pressure on all political leaders to work together for Guyana’s sake.
Yours faithfully,
