A pugnacious, maiden century from Rawle Enmore assisted by a half century from Orande Douglas and a good all round game from captain Abzal Gafoor guided Ace Warriors Cricket Club to a resounding 202-run victory over Diplomats as action in the Georgetown Cricket Association (GCA)/ Beharry Champion Products limited overs second-division competition continued Saturday.
Playing at the Ghandi Youth Organization (GYO) ground in a match that could have been termed the battle of the newly formed clubs, Ace Warriors proved their superiority from the tossing of the coin which they also won.
Batting first, Ace Warriors led by openers Enmore and Douglas posted 186 runs for the first wicket with Enmore slamming 126 and Douglas, 86 as Ace Warriors reached 316-6 at the end of their 40 overs.
Douglas struck 10 sixes and nine fours in his innings of 86 while Enmore also featured in a second wicket stand of 126 with his skipper Gafoor.
In Diplomats’ turn at the wicket, they found the bowling of Gafoor too much to handle and crumbled to 112. Roger Aaron supported Gafoor with 2-17. Points; Ace Warriors (24) Diplomats (4)

In reply, Linden Lyght with 27 along with 17 and 16 from Guyana/TCL under-19 players Royston Alkins and Trevon Griffith respectively enabled DCC to gallop to 128-7 from 23 overs.
Seon Daniels with 3-47 and former national under-19 off spinner Sean Devers (2-13) tried desperately to bowl their team to a victory, but the total was a meagre one.

Marcus Watkins made 32 and Leon D’Aguiar 22 not out as Orle Dawson bagged 2-33 and Ricardo Devers, 2-45 for GYO.
