The Georgetown Football Club (GFC) on Wednesday gained its second victory
of the Georgetown Football Association’s (GFA) Chubby Under-14 round robin Competition when they defeated Santos Football Club at the Tucville Playfield on Day Two of the tournament.
Some six matches were scheduled for Wednesday and the only game not contested was the match between defending champions Beacon United and Pele Football Club as the former team benefited from a walkover.
Santos were given a dose of their own medicine when the were beaten 0-2 by GFC.
Adonie Parboo and Nalolan Martin were the players responsible for Santos’ demise scoring one goal each for GFC to give the team its second victory of the tournament.
Tournament debutants Rhythm Squad plunged to another defeat while Fruta Conquerors gained its first win after they drew with Flamingo on the opening day.
In the Rhythm Squad/Conquerors encounter, Romelo Fraser was the lone goal scorer for Conquerors who won the match by a 1-0 margin.
Delon Baptiste was the lone scorer for Strike Again while no player from First Assembly could manage to get a ball past the Strike Again custodian in their duel that ended 1-0.
Another day, another draw, after Camptown challenged Thomas United and played to a stalemate.
They had also played to a stalemate on the opening day (Monday) of the Championship against Renaissance.
Renaissance are in the same boat as Camptown having played to another stalemate, this time against Flamingo.
The action continues today at the Tucville Playfield with another six matches.
