The Guyana Cricket Umpires Council (GCUC) now has six new faces added to its ranks following their successful participation at their preliminary examinations held earlier this year.
Berbician Imran Moakan whose father Roshan Moakan is already an established umpire and president of the Berbice Cricket Umpires Association (BCUA) topped the list of examinees with 92 marks.
The other five persons who excelled at their exams including two Surinamese are Cyril Bonar (78 marks and second place) and Mohamed Rafi (63 marks and fourth place) Howard Chance 68 marks, Ian Duncan 61 marks and Saeed Mohamed of Wakenaam 60 marks.
According to a press release, the successful candidates will continue to hone their skills in preparation for the West Indies examination some time in the future.
