At a simple presentation ceremony held recently at the Georgetown Cricket Club pavilion, the Georgetown Cricket Association (GCA) handed over three dozen shirts to the Georgetown Cricket Umpires and Scorers Association (GCUSA).
In brief remarks, president of the GCA Bishwa Panday said that his organization considers the members of the GCUSA to be important stakeholders in the game of cricket in Georgetown, and the handing over was in keeping with a commitment made earlier when his association met the GCUSA.
And Grantley Culbard in response thanked the GCA for its timely donation and remarked that when his association met the GCA, they were very receptive to the suggestion that shirts be made available to the umpires. This donation will assist the umpires to properly outfit themselves for games. (Calvin Roberts)
