Chubby Under-14 Championship

Pernell Schultz blasted a heated hat-trick against the Georgetown Football Club (GFC) in the Georgetown Football Association’s (GFA) Chubby Under-14 Championships yesterday at the Tucville playfield.

Conquerors conquered GFC 7–0 in the 60 minutes of play while Beacons advanced to the final round after winning 3–0 in a penalty shootout.

Schultz began the scoring in the middle of the first half when he got past the goalkeeper in the 15th and 16th minutes.  He concluded the first half with a double then converted it into a hat-trick 16 minutes into the final half (46th min).

All other goals came in the second 30 minutes of play for  Conquerors as Romelo Fraser and Alwin Moore scored in the 34th and 38th minutes respectively while Ryan Hackett scored in the 55th and Eon Alleyne two minutes later.

In the Beacons/Thomas United encounter, neither team could score in the allotted 60 minutes of play nor in  extra time which took them to a dreaded penalty shootout.

Of the five attempts given, Thomas United could not produce a goal on any occasion while Mark Watson, Deon Alfred and Darren Harris were successful for the defending champions to take them through to the final for the second consecutive year.

Saturday September 6 is billed for  the final of the Chubby Uner-14 Championship between Fruta Conquerors and Beacon United while GFC and Thomas United will battle for the third spot.
