The Central Islamic Organisation of Guyana (CIOG) wishes the nation Ramadan Mubarak.
In a press release the CIOG said Ramadan Mubarak encourages the act of fasting which is a particularly intimate form of worship. It said observers should follow Allah’s instructions to fast in order to develop Takwah or self restraint.
It said too followers should make the most of the month of Ramadan by reaching out in charity to the poor and needy and others who may be encountering great challenges. The CIOG also said Muslims should visit the sick, feed the hungry and pray for them and further, they should “make duah to Allah to ease their suffering.”
It said too Muslims should try to settle differences with relatives and members of masjids as at this time “the gates of Heaven are open and the gates of hell are closed.” In keeping with this, Muslims should take advantage of Allah’s mercy and forgiveness.
