Action in the Georgetown Cricket Association (GCA) organized first and second division competitions will continue over the weekend.
But, in a match of the Guyana Cricket Board (GCB) today, unbeaten Malteenoes Sports Club (MSC) will be looking to extend their run when they oppose Demerara Cricket Club (DCC) in the nationwide Neal and Massey 50 overs-a side match.
MSC who have won all their games to date, will be brimming with confidence, especially with the likes of former national Under-19 captain Steven Jacobs, Stanford Twenty/20 Super-stars selectee Lennox Cush, Shemroy Barrington, Orin Forde, Dion Ferrier, former national wicket keeper batsman Kenneth Wong and Imran Hassan.
On the other side, DCC who has always enjoyed the heated battles with their Thomas Lands opponents. They can depend on national all rounder Christopher Barnwell, along with national under-19 opener Trevon Griffith, Demerara under-19 wicketkeeper Denver Greaves, Jamal Hinckson, Dennis Squires, Royston Alkins and Essequibo’s Trevon Garraway.
N&M action will continue tomorrow with MSC opposing Everest Cricket Club at Camp Road, whilst Guyana National Industrial Corporat-ion (GNIC) will take on Georgetown Cricket Club (GCC) at GCC.
Sunday’s action will pit DCC facing Everest at DCC whilst MSC will host GNIC at MSC.
In the Beharry Champion Cup limited overs second division competition, Third Class will face Ace Warriors at GNIC, DCC will go up against Diplomats at DCC, GNIC and MSC will clash at MSC and Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sports (MCYS) will oppose Transports Sports Club at Gandhi Youth Organization (GYO).
All these matches will be played tomorrow. On Sunday, GCC and MCYS will clash at GCC, GNIC and DCC will battle at GNIC whilst Third Class and Diplomats will battle for supremacy at GYO.
