Two men who allegedly robbed another man at gunpoint were remanded to prison on Monday when they appeared before Magistrate Melissa Robertson Ogle at the Georgetown Magistrate’s Court.
Thirty-three-year-old Sherwin Singh of 264 Independence Boulevard, La Penitence and Troy Anthony, 22, of 26 Hill Street, Albouystown both pleaded not guilty to robbery under arms.
The prosecution stated that on September 2 at Charlestown the two robbed a man of a quantity of items and shot him. The man is at present undergoing treatment at a hospital as a result of the gunshot wound and the bullet is said to be still in his body.
Singh and Anthony’s attorney then applied for bail but the prosecution objected to it.
The magistrate ordered that the two accused be remanded to prison until September 22 when they have to return to court.
