Prime Minister Samuel Hinds has criticised the PNCR for labelling members of the Joint Services “bounty hunters”.
The PNCR recently stated its objection to President Bharrat Jagdeo’s announcement that members of the Joint Services will receive part of the $50M+ reward that had been put out for the capture of fugitives Rondell ‘Fineman’ Rawlins and Jermaine ‘Skinny’ Charles.
In a press release, Hinds opined that the party was confused since it had previously praised the Joint Services and expressed satisfaction at “the end of the reign of the killers”. He said that the PNCR found it difficult to accept that there were achievements for which the Joint Services should be commended.
He also said that the opposition had “used all possible tools at their disposal to frustrate the government, undermine public confidence in the Joint Services and demoralise the members of the Disciplined Services”.
Hinds further stated that the recent accomplishment by the Joint Services has resulted in growing public confidence in the Service and said that “a motivated Disciplined Joint Services stand ready to implement the Security Sector Reform in Guyana”.
