.Acting Chief Magistrate Melissa Robertson-Ogle yesterday at the Georgetown Magistrate’s Court remanded to prison a mechanic who allegedly had carnal knowledge of a young girl.
Twenty-seven-year-old Mark Trim of Lot 17 Bel Air, Campbellville, was charged with two counts of carnal knowledge of a 15-year-old girl and was not required to plead to the indictable charge. It is alleged that between July 21 and 31 last year Trim had carnal knowledge of the teenager. It is also alleged that between January 1 and 31 this year Trim again had carnal knowledge of the same 15-year-old female.
Trim’s lawyer applied for bail for him on the grounds that the defendant has been cooperating and reporting to the police each time that he was ordered to. However the prosecution objected to the bail application.
The magistrate subsequently refused the bail application and ordered that Trim be remanded to prison and to return to court on September 30.
