Advertisers take their cue from the society

Dear Editor,
I was wondering why there is so much shouting and lewdness in the advertisments for consumer goods and services on TV, and reading Dr Ian McDonald’s column on Sunday, September 21, I found the answer. You see our society is overwhelmed with lewdness in the mini-buses, on the street, from musical push-carts, from blaring stereo sets and even from the radio. Since it appears that our people love the lewdness and bawling, the suppliers of consumer goods and the service providers just add their share.
