Two reputable fast food chains have indicated their interest in making their services available at the Cheddi Jagan International Airport.
Airport Chief Executive Officer Ramesh Ghir made the disclosure to this newspaper recently, but noted that a final decision was yet to be made. Transport Minister Robeson Benn in a follow-up comment on the issues said he had already given the go-ahead for the introduction of this type of competition. However, no agreement had been inked as yet.
Neither official revealed the names of the fast food chains but noted that they were both “reputable.”
Currently visitors to the airport and passengers utilise the services offered by the small shops outside the terminal, while there is a bar and small snackette in the Departure Lounge for outbound passengers.
