The 2008 Berbice Cricket Board of Control (BCBC)/New Building Society Challenge second-division limited overs cricket competition continued recently with Berbice under-19 cricketer Krishendat Ramoo’s fine all-round performance guiding Bush Lot to a massive 232-run victory over Union in their encounter.
Firstly, Ramoo belted a quick fire 112 with five fours and one six to see Bush Lot reach 322 for 8 in their allotted 40 overs.
Secondly, he came back armed with the ball to destroy Union’s innings grabbing 3 -10 from seven overs of off spin which included four maidens as Union was dismissed for 90.
And Salim Khan blasted seven fours and five sixes in a score of 93 which, together with Safraz Ali’s 56 which included five fours and four sixes saw No. 70 M.Y.O. to a formidable 278 for 6 in 35 overs against No. 70 Young Blood.
His team-mates, pacers Ahmad Khan with 5-21 and Imran Khan 3 -7 from five overs each, then dismissed No. 70 Young Blood for a paltry 68 in reply.
Number 70 Lalman’s opening bowlers Omesh Khemraj with 4-8 and Chris Bollers (4-20) helped skittle out No. 65 Original for a paltry 49 to set up a 10-wicket victory.
Other batsmen registering half centuries were Lakeram Latchman of No. 73 Young Warriors, Gobin Roopram of No. 72 All Star, Ishwar Baksh and Azzarudin Khan of John’s as well as Govind Narine of Bloomfield.
