Some kind of quality is expected from NCN

Dear Editor,

Last Sunday, I was not surprised when Mr Oswald Singh apologized for the lack of Sports news. This is habitual, and when there is a sportscast, it is just a mere smattering of random news items.

For example, there has been no word on the Moseley/Mayorga fight. Also, in one newscast it was said that Roger Federer and Andy Murray were to meet, and that the US Men’s Tennis Final had finished the day before, that is, a Monday.

Take all of this and add a ‘picking-corn’ reader, who cannot parse a sentence, and can barely read in monosyllables, and you have NCN Inc sport, television and radio. I called to query, and both the CEO (M. Sattaur) and Programme Manager (M. Goolsarran) were away.

I have a few questions. What has happened to 98.1 Hot FM. The morning is a funeral.

Please, can something be done. With M. Ferreira on the VOG, and ‘Guyana Today’ a hodge-podge, what can the general audience do? I would have turned to the other media houses, but all I get is the daily newspapers, arbitrary songs, poor reading, and loads of grammatical blunders.

I have the greatest grouse with NCN Inc, though. This is because it is the state entity, and some kind of quality is expected. Please can somebody do something.

Yours faithfully,
Shane Rizwan
