Ian Jackson rode off with the feature 30-lap event and 12 of the 30 prime prizes as the Carlton Wheelers Cycle Club successfully staged its sixth annual track cycling meet at the Everest Cricket Club ground on Sunday.
Jackson, who earlier in the day had destroyed the field in the under-45, five-lap event defeated a strong field of 15 other riders which included the in-form Alonso Greaves, last year’s winner Darren Allen, Christopher Holder, Tyrone Hamilton and Robin Persaud in the event sponsored by Modern Optical Services Limited.
Holder took the second position and nine prime prizes while Greaves was third.
Sunday’s meet saw Jonathan Fagundes and Holder finishing with three wins each while Greaves captured two races.
Fagundes won the juveniles five and six-lap races respectively and the BMX Open while Greaves won the five-lap event for categories one and two cyclists from Hamilton and John Charles respectively.
Greaves also won the devil-takes-the hindmost event from Hamilton and John Charles in that order.
