Five of Guyana’s overseas-based rugby players in contention for selection for Guyana’s National Sevens Team to participate in the NAWIRA 2009 Regional RWC Sevens Qualifier in Bahamas from October 25-26 have returned home and begun training with the national squad.
Claudius Butts, Captain of Rugby West Indies, West Indian players, Theodore Henry, Richard Staglon and Ronald Mayers, have returned from Trinidad and Tobago while Rupert Giles, who represented Guyana earlier this year in the NAWIRA Rugby World Trophy Fifteens Qualifier in Barbados, arrived from the United Kingdom.
The players were involved in a trial match which took place yesterday at the National park rugby playfield.
