Leading veteran lawn tennis champion Rudy Grant came from a set down to win the men’s 35 and over singles title at Le Meridien Pegasus Open Lawn Tennis Championship against Gilbert Barckoy when the event continued last Thursday at the hotel’s courts in Kingston.
Barckoy took the first set 2-6 in a game that was looking to go his way.
But things changed in the second set for Barckoy as a rejuvenated Grant unleashed powerful first serves to take the second set 6-2.
The third set saw Grant going for the kill as he built on his second set momentum and took the third 6-2.
Grant was down to compete in the 45 and over men’s final against Stephen Longe last evening.
