Guyanese author of the Voice Within His Voice Astell Collins is set to launch his first line of stationery in January through his publishing company Astelley’s Pen Empire, in South Africa.
According to a press release, Collins, 26, signed a multi-million dollar deal with one of South Africa’s most influential black businessmen Hamilton Ratshefola to launch his company. The agreement with Ratshefola has propelled the success of his company along with his youth initiative Kingdom Ambassadors.
Dubbed a “poetic architect” by many for his unique way of illustrating the gospel through poetry, Collins has created a new style that he calls GosPoetry, the release said. Collins’s company is set to launch a line of post and greeting cards, bookmarkers and several other items featuring his inspirational GosPoetry.
According to the release Collins was employed as a medical technologist and branch manager at Eureka Medical Laboratory when he completed his first book of poems. Shortly after he commenced a Caribbean tour to promote the book and on the last leg of the journey, he attended a leadership summit in the Bahamas hosted by Dr Myles Munroe. Collins also met with Les Brown, Yolanda Adams, Pastor George Mosena and Premier of the North West Province of South Africa Edna Molewa who invited him to the country.
Collins then spent a month in South Africa addressing schools, universities and churches. The first trip then paved the way for him and his wife Marcia Blake-Collins to return to South Africa to accomplish what he believes is God’s will for his life.
