The Cameron & Shepherd Prize for the best graduating Guyanese student of the Hugh Wooding Law School for 2008 in Civil Procedure 1 and 2 over the two-year course for the Legal Education Certificate was won by Manoj Narayan, who was recently admitted to practice here.
In presenting the book prize earlier this month, Senior Counsel Ralph Ramkarran, senior partner of Cameron & Shepherd, congratulated Narayan on winning the coveted prize while also noting his distinguished performance at the examination for the Legal Education Certificate, being the best graduating Guyanese student, a press release stated.
He also congratulated Narayan on his choice of the Law of Contempt from the Common Law Library and, apart from noting the value of the work in identifying when contempt occurs and exploring remedies for the breach of court orders, the senior counsel expressed the hope that the new attorney will be equipped to defend his colleagues if they should fall foul of the magistracy or the judiciary, the release added.
