Dear Editor,
David de Caires was a true friend of Lusignan Golf Club having been a member for over 40 years. During this period he served as Vice-Captain and Captain of the club. He would be particularly remembered during the bleak years when the club went through an austere period, and was down to under 20 playing members. He helped in the fundraising efforts to keep the club afloat to allow the game to continue. He was also known for his knowledge of the rules, and conditions of the game whenever disputes arose. He was respected by all members and the caddies.
David had an amiable personality and could always be approached, not to mention his unique sense of humour.
The members of Lusignan Golf Club extend heartfelt sympathy to his wife Doreen and his children.
David will be sadly missed!
Yours faithfully,
Mel Sankies, President, and members of Lusignan Golf Club
