Two men, including an employee, have been arrested in connection with Monday’s fatal shooting of businessman Ricardo Henriques, during a robbery.
Stabroek News understands that the employee was among several persons who had accompanied the 31-year-old US-based man to Juice Power on Middle Street to purchase water.
The man was arrested shortly after the incident, during which Henriques was also robbed of a bag containing a substantial amount of cash, reportedly representing money he had collected from persons that day.
The other man, this newspaper understands, was picked up subsequently and was riding a motorcycle that matched the description of the one the gunmen got away on.
Police, in a statement yesterday, said they are investigating the shooting. According to police, investigations revealed that Henriques, his father Richard Henriques and three employees went to Juice Power in a motor vehicle to purchase water.
