The bus fares for the Parika (32), Mahaica (44) and Upper Corentyne (62 to 69) routes have been readjusted and the revised structures for the latter two routes were released on Friday and are as follows:

A press release from the Government Information Agency (GINA) said that at a November 15 meeting of the various minibus associations with Minister of Tourism, Industry and Commerce, Manniram Prashad, it had been agreed that they would revert to the fares that existed prior to the increase in fuel prices. On October 28, government had announced that fuel prices would be reduced significantly and Prashad had called on the associations to reduce the fares.
Currently the price of petroleum products locally has dropped with the price of gasoline falling 20.7 per cent, diesel 20.2 per cent and kerosene 30.6 per cent.
