All roads will lead to the Norman Singh Memorial Turf Club, Bel Air Number Six Village, West Coast, Berbice on December 14 when the crème de le crème of the horse racing fraternity meets.
According to organizing secretary Compton Sancho, over five million dollars will be up for grabs in the nine-race event which commences promptly at 12.30pm.
Sequin, who has been the horse to beat over the last few meetings, is once again favoured in the `C’ class and lower event while Ice Follies, Miss Republic, Little Panie, Great Memories, Anny’s Playmate will mount strong challenges for the richest race of the meeting.
The race which carries $750,000 in prize money will see the champion horse riding away with $400,000.
In the three-year-old Open class the fight will be between Jumbo Joy, the Gap, Pinch De Cash and The Message for the $350,000 first prize in the $655,000 race.
Other events on the card include the J, K and lower with a first prize of $120,000; F and lower with a first prize of $220,000; two-year-old maidens/Guyana Bred with a first prize of $160,000; L class with a first prize of $100,000 first prize, I and Lower with a first prize of $140,000 two-year-olds Guyana and West Indies bred with a first prize of $250,000 and G, H and lower class with a $160,000 first prize.
Some of the horses already committed to participate in the meeting are Wonder Lite, Alphabet, Pixie Fire, La Boyamosa, Sir Balajie, Sacrifice, Laura Lee in Flight and Sweet Romance.
According to Sancho more than 20 of the country’s top horses have already been entered for the meet which has been sanctioned by the Guyana Horse Racing Authority (GHRA).
In addition, all races carry prize money from first to fourth. However fourth place prize monies will only be paid out if seven horses participate in the race.
For third place prize monies to be handed over five horses must participate in the race.
Meanwhile, Sancho reported that the infrastructure at the turf club had been spruced up with the addition of a new 80-foot double decker stand while new stables have been built.

Additionally five patrons will have something to smile about as the club has an ongoing raffle with five Jailing motorcycles up for grabs.
The winning ticket numbers will be drawn and announced during breaks in the races.
