With the intent to offer a variety of services under one roof and to provide another central location for their customers, the Survival Supermarket opened a branch on Sheriff Street. The new branch of the supermarket and off licence liquor store at 173 Sheriff Street will also have a stationery store, Western Union and Bill Express services and a travel agency is to be added soon. A taxi stand for added customer comfort will be at the front of the establishment. The original location at Duncan Street and Vlissengen Road has been in operation for the last eight years. Representatives from several major companies such as Geddes Grant, Bermudez, Beepat and Bryden’s spoke at the short opening ceremony. The owner Parshuram Arjune in brief remarks said that he is extremely thankful to his loyal customers for their support over the years. Arjune also thanked his staff for their hard work. Meanwhile the first 100 customers were offered a ten per cent across-the-floor discount on everything in their shopping basket.Comments
