Minister of Home Affairs, Clement Rohee says that he is not prepared to facilitate visits to the Alberttown and Brickdam lock-ups by interested Parliamenta-rians.
“No, I am not prepared at this point in time to allow visits to the lock-ups at either station or any station”, he declared. He was at the time, responding to a question posed by PNCR-1G MP, Debra Backer at Parliament yesterday. He asserted that it was not for security concerns but for other reasons.
The minister said that he was not prepared to disclose these reasons and when quizzed by Backer on reports that a “private citizen” Don Gomes was allowed access to the lock-ups; he said that he could not go according to what newspaper reports have said.
