A 20-year-old woman was up to press time receiving treatment for injuries she sustained to her forehead when she was attacked while on her way home last evening.
Fiona Lam of Non Pareil, East Coast Demerara sustained lacerations across her forehead. The woman was reportedly walking along the road on her way home when she was attacked by a man who lashed her on the head with a hammer, snatched her handbag and escaped.
Lam was rushed to the Georgetown Hospital for treatment.
