RHYTSC cricket teams contribute to BCBC

Five cricket teams of the Rose Hall Town Youth and  Sports Club (RHTYSC) recently made a donation to the Berbice Cricket Board of Control (BCBC).
The donation was made in the office of the BCBC under the Patronage Development Programme which is aimed at developing communities throughout the county.

Female Berbice under-19 cricketer Nermala Sewdat, speaking on behalf of the team, stated that as  a member of the RHTYSC one is taught to reach out and make a positive difference in God’s world.

Added to that she said the club also teaches  its members not to think of themselves but others so all cricketers are a part of a Personal Development Programme where each team has to do six projects annually.

The RHT Farfan and Mendes under-15 and Pepsi under-19 teams handed over two hundred and fifty 2009 calendars, bearing the board’s name and information about its operations. The calendars cost $30,000.

This calendar, the first of its kind, would be distributed to cricket clubs throughout Berbice, schools, NGOs, cricketers and sponsors.

Meanwhile, the Bakewell Second Division team handed over a printing of a 3ftx4ft poster for the launching of the Berbice All Time XI valued at $25,000 while the Windies Sports Bar First Division team contributed a 1000w standby generator valued at $35,000.
