A twenty-year-old man who allegedly robbed another man of a gold band and a quantity of cash was remanded to prison on Friday when he appeared before Magistrate Melissa Robertson at the George-town Magistrate’s Court.
Seon King of North Ruimveldt Park pleaded not guilty to the charge of larceny from the person.
It is alleged that on December 10, King together with others robbed Bernard Antowan of a gold band valued $6,000 and $5,000 in cash.
However, King stated that he was loitering at the park when two men approached him and told him that “I look like a suspect cause they just get rob by five men and I look like one ah dem.”
King also stated that he had nothing to do with the robbery since he is trying to keep out of trouble because he has a similar case before the court.
The magistrate subsequently ordered that King be remanded to prison and that he appear again in court on December 29.
