The Guyana Islamic Forum joins with Christians in commemorating the birth of Jesus Christ.
In a press release the group said as Muslims it honours the day in solidarity with Christians for Jesus “brought great transformation to then Israel and the world today.” He continues to inspire people to decency and piety, the release said.
The group said too as a nation Guyanese are accustomed to celebrating and observing the end-of-year holiday season with pomp, ceremony and joy. As such it urges persons who imbibe and enjoy holiday delicacies to do so with responsibility and decency. Further it urges persons who drink to refrain from driving. The Forum said too families should celebrate the “blessed holiday” in joy and prayer.
