Thirty-three Crops and Livestock and Veterinary Officers have been deployed by the Ministry of Agriculture’s Crop and Livestock Department to continue its monitoring and provision of technical assistance to farmers who are affected by flooding.
According to a release from GINA, these officers visited Buxton, Friendship, Vigilance, Unity/Lancaster, Dochfour, Greenfield/Bee Hive, Bare Root, Bachelor’s Adventure, Dazzell, Enter-prise, Hope Estate, Victoria, Paradise and Ann’s Grove.
Chief Crops and Livestock Officer Brian Sears said that the officers are checking the status of animals to determine what interventions may be required.
He said that some affected animals have been treated for minor conditions and administered vitamins to boost their immune systems.
