A 49-year-old man was chopped to death and placed in a suitcase after an argument ensued between him and the man he was drinking with.

Roger Alli called ‘Bobby’ of Coghlan Dam, Pouderoyen, West Bank Demerara was murdered  around 4.20 hours yesterday at Bella Dam, Pouderoyen.

According to a police press release Alli and another man were consuming alcohol when an argument ensued between them. This developed into an altercation during which Alli was chopped about his body, and placed in a suitcase which was left under a shed.

He was taken to the West Demerara Regional Hospital where he was pronounced dead on arrival.

Meanwhile the suspect has been arrested and is in police custody assisting with the investigations, the release said.
