The Cavaliers Sports and Tour Club, who are the main promoters of the sport of race walking, will host two events in observance of the country’s 39th republic anniversary.
Race walkers from all 10 administrative regions are expected to match steps in the first event on February15.
That event will commence from 6.30am and will involve 20 laps around the National Park. The second event, the `Burnham Anniversary’ race walk, will be staged on February 22 also from 6.30am.
That event will start off from the `Burnham Bust’ Public Road and Vlissengen Road, Kitty and proceed along Vlissengen Road to end at the Place of the Seven Ponds, in the Botanical gardens.
Trophies and other incentives will be at stake for the top finishers in the senior, junior and veteran categories.
Interested participants are requested to be at the starting line for both events at 5.45am.
