A number of Guyanese players stood out for their respective clubs in the Carib Sunday League cricket series.
Leading the way was batsman Troy Cornelius who struck 73 for Central Sports against Couva Sports.
Cornelius dominated the Couva attack and took his team to 148/4 off 28 overs.
When Couva Sports batted they were bundled out for 79 with former Guyana and West Indies all rounder Mahendra Nagamootoo taking one wicket for seven runs.
Another Guyanese batsman among the runs was Krishna Deosarran who struck 86 for Caldrac Sports in their victory over the Defence Force. Caldrac batting first made 306/6 off 50 overs with Deosarran and Darren Choon 103 not out the main run getters.
Defence Force was bowled out for 213 in reply.
Former West Indies and Guyana opener Azeemul Haniff continues to serve Clico Preysal well and scored an unbeaten 40 to take his team to a 4-wicket win over UTT.
UTT taking first strike scored 142 for seven off 40 overs with Barbadian Ryan Hurley taking 2/30.
Preysal in reply lost wickets regularly but opener Haniff stood as solid as a rock to take his team home.
