A forty-eight-year-old man, who allegedly stole a generator valued $400,000 was granted bail yesterday when he appeared before Acting Chief Magistrate Melissa Robertson at the Georgetown Magistrate’s Court.
Patrick Peters of Textile Mill Housing Scheme pleaded not guilty to the charge of simple larceny.
It is alleged that between December 25 and 26 of last year, Peters stole the generator valued $400,000, property of Norman McLean.
The prosecution stated that Peters had taken the police to the place where he had the generator hidden shortly after he was arrested.
The magistrate subsequently placed Peters on bail in the sum of $65,000 and ordered that he return to court on February 18.
