The main opposition PNCR has expressed sympathy to the family of broadcaster Ayube Hamid on his passing, saying it is unlikely that his place in the national broadcasting community would be filled.
In a statement, the PNCR said: “The party also wishes to acknowledge the great service that he gave in the field of broadcasting and his lasting impact on the community of broadcasters both here and in the region,” According to the party, Hamid’s programmes, such as “The Ayube Hamid Show” and “Indian Memory Album,” stood out for their excellent quality.
However, it added that he was not merely the broadcaster but also someone who seemed to have a vested interest in younger members of the profession and who gave of his time and energy to those who were prepared to learn their craft.
