Four policemen are under close arrest after they allegedly attempted to obtain money from a man after reportedly planting drugs on him.

Crime Chief Seelall Persaud told Stabroek News yesterday that investigations are being conducted into the allegations that were made against the Tactical Services Unit (TSU) ranks.

Up to late yesterday afternoon they were still under close arrest and according to Persaud, investigators have not yet sought the advice of the Director of Public Prosecutions on the way forward.

The incident is said to have occurred on Wednesday night.
