A schoolgirl suspected to have been abducted and then raped was yesterday at the Georgetown Hospital awaiting treatment but was likely going to be transferred to another facility for further treatment.
According to reports reaching this newspaper, the 15-year-old girl was on her way to school yesterday morning when she was picked up on the Grove Public Road by a mini bus with three men.
This newspaper further understands that the girl was apparently drugged before being raped by the men. She was later dropped off in the vicinity of the Stabroek Market and then taken to the hospital.
Police investigations are continuing.
