Terrence Plummer of North Sophia has been placed on the life-support machine at the medical institution, relatives said. The father of one was shot in front of the Imperial Chinese Restaurant on Sheriff Street, where he and some friends were drinking at about 2 am yesterday.

Police, in a press release stated that investigations so far have revealed that Plummer and two other men were drinking in front of the restaurant when two men, one of whom was armed with a gun, approached the group.

The police said that the armed man placed the firearm to Plummer’s head and discharged a round and as the wounded man fell to the ground, the bandit took away his jewellery. His accomplice then took away a cell phone from Tiwari and they escaped. Plummer was taken to the GPH, where he was admitted.

Relatives told this newspaper that the bandits took away a gold chain, rings and a wallet from Plummer. A large group of relatives and friends waited to see him at the medical institution yesterday and said that he had been placed on a life-support machine and no operation had been done as yet. An operation is supposed to be done today, relatives said but they were uncertain as to whether the bullet was lodged in his head.
Speaking on condition that he not be identified, one friend who was with Plummer stated that all he heard was a loud explosion and when he went to where Plummer was standing, he saw him bleeding on the ground. He said that they had just finished purchasing two boxes of food and were standing outside the restaurant. The friend declared that he did not see either of the bandits.

Plummer’s mother, Paro Sukhu said that she was informed of the incident early yesterday morning. She recalled that on Saturday afternoon, he had left home to do some work. She said that he lived with her and was a self-employed research technician. The woman stated that after completing the job, he had not returned home.
