Essequibo police are investigating a fatal accident that occurred just before midnight on Saturday which resulted in the death of a 21-year-old Middlesex, Essequibo Coast man.
According a police release it was around 11.05 pm when Navindra Seeram was struck by motorcar, HB 2139, at Hibernia, Essequibo Coast and died.
The release said that the driver of the car was proceeding along the roadway at a fast rate when he lost control and struck Seeram who was walking and then ploughed into a fence. The young man was pronounced dead at the Suddie Hospital.
The driver of the car is a patient at the same hospital after reportedly suffering injuries at the hands of residents who attacked him following the accident.
