The Georgetown Amateur Basketball Association (GABA) Kevin Worrell/Lens Craft first and third division league competitions continued at the Burnham Basketball Court last Friday with wins for Dyna’s Ravens and Nets in their respective divisions.
In the third division league action, Dyna’s Ravens easily disposed of Beepat Scorpions 83-54.
Ravens, led by center Kiev Chesney had an unassailable 24 points lead (44-20) at half time.
Four Ravens players touched double figure with Chesney leading all with 23 points. Tyron Hamid had 19 points while Stryon Obermuller and Jarrel Harry netted 12 and 10 points respectively.
In the second game Nets came from behind to beat Bounty Colts 70-66 in a first division encounter.
The Colts literally controlled the court in the first three quarters but the Nets were always in easy reach of their score.
At half time, the Colts led 35-31.
In the fourth quarter the Nets turned up the pressure at both the defensive and offensive ends to claw their way back in the game and hold on for the win.
For the victors, Mortimer Williams top scored with 21 points while Joe Ifill had 12 points while hauling in several important rebounds.
Veteran player Dane Kendall had 17 points and Desmond Chin 12 for the Colts.
