A shopkeeper who allegedly forged a date on an immigration travel document was granted bail yesterday when she appeared before Acting Chief Magistrate Melissa Robertson at the Georgetown Magistrateโs Court.
Twenty-six-year-old Primini Umroo pleaded not guilty to the charge of forgery.
It is alleged that on February 13, at the Cheddi Jagan International Airport, Timehri, Umroo with intent to defraud, forged a date on an immigration travel document.
Umrooโs lawyer applied for bail for her on the grounds that she is a mother of two, with the younger being eighteen months.
The magistrate subsequently placed Umroo on bail in the sum of $95,000 and transferred the case to Court Three for March 1.
