It is alleged that between February 6 and 10, Rahaman stole

$300,000, property of Jason Singh. It is also alleged that between February 4 and 14, she stole three gold and diamond chains and thirteen pairs of gold earrings valued over $2.6M, property of Khemraj Singh. She was also accused of stealing a camera and several other items.

Khemraj Singh, who was also present in court, stated that he had employed Rahaman for three weeks at his store. He said that she had access to his home and she had hidden a key for his safe that contained the jewellery and money. He stated that when he realised the key and the contents of the safe were missing, he confronted her and she surrendered some of the money. A report was made to the police station and Rahaman was later arrested and charged.

Meanwhile, Rahaman stated that she was willing to repay Khemraj and Jason Singh for their loss.

The magistrate subsequently ordered that Rahaman be remanded to prison and that she appear again in court on February 20 with the money to recompense the duo.
