Mexico is to establish an embassy here, Minister of Foreign Affairs, Carolyn Rodrigues-Birkett says. She disclosed last evening that an Ambassador is expected to arrive here next week.
Rodrigues-Birkett was at the time making her presentation to the 2009 Budget debate. She noted that Mexico will be the first Central American country to establish an embassy in Guyana.
She stated that officials are already looking at sites for the embassy and it will be established shortly. The minister noted too that Libya is to establish an embassy here and officials from that country are expected here soon.
