Dear Editor,
It is time for accountability by ministers, public servants, national and local elected officials. All have a shared responsibility to ensure that the public get what they pay for and were promised. Public servants are directly responsible for carrying out government policy whether they agree with it or not. What they can at least do is to see it is carried out fairly and courteously. Unfortunately, too many, including politicians and media types, refuse to admit that public servants share culpability in many government failures. All who betray the public trust due to incompetence, discourtesy or corruption must be held to account. Morality or decency does not rely on salary, race or party.
