A four-vehicle smash-up on the East Coast Demerara Highway at Happy Acres last evening saw two men having to be fished out of a nearby trench. They were taken to the Georgetown Public Hospital for medical attention but are said to have suffered no serious injuries. It was not immediately clear how the accident occurred but at least one vehicle was said to have been returning from the Mashramani celebrations in Berbice. The car that the two men were in was the only one that ended up in the trench.
