-gas lobbed at man

A man has been arrested as the police investigate the death of a 17-year-old boy at the Georgetown Hospital a week after he sustained severe burns while clearing a plot of land in Linden.

Dead is Leroy Anthony Daniels of `C’ Field Sophia.

In a press release yesterday the police said that their investigations have revealed that on February 22 Daniels and three men were involved in the clearing of a plot of land at Phase 3, Wisroc, Wismar, when it is alleged that one of the men threw a container with gasoline in Daniels’ direction as he was setting fire to a heap of grass.

Daniels suffered severe burns after the container exploded and was taken to the Georgetown Hospital where he died on Monday.

A man has been arrested following a report made to the police on Wednesday, the release added.
